Saturday October 8th saw my finale as your 2016 Club Captain and I’m pleased to say the feedback suggests it was a resounding success.
For the past five years Theydon Bois GC have hosted our dinner and dance and yet again the hospitality and catering were superb, we had entertainment throughout our meal in the form of Sax and Honey, while DJ Tony Poole kept us dancing all the way through to the early hours. And to top it all I have it on good authority that my speech was well received and so I have to say I’m struggling to find anything negative from our evening.
Thank you to everyone who attended on the night and for the support I received throughout my year as Captain.
We can now look forward to having a new Captain take the reigns in the form of Mr Kevin O’Donoghue and so the the following dates are of the utmost importance.
Friday October 21st: AGM
please give your support to this year’s AGM. We have moved it to a Friday night in an attempt to improve attendance numbers on previous years and it’s also your chance to ask questions and have a say on who’s elected to the Committee. And of course it’s the official date from when our new Captain takes up his position.
Sunday October 23rd: Captains Drive In
A big day for our Captain and so your support is a must, please. Come along with friends and family and watch Kevin drive in as your new Captain.
Saturday October 29th: Halloween Party
Billed as fancy dress but this is NOT compulsory so please don’t let this stop you attending. Tickets on sale now from myself at £10 each. This includes a buffet and the services of DJ Tony Poole who was such a big hit with the dinner and dance crowd. This is Kevin’s first event as Captain, so let’s get behind him please, members and guests welcome.
