Despite the weather trying it’s hardest to dampen the CGC spirits the support yet again was in adbundance for my home day and a great day it turned out to be.
A change of format this year allowed me as Captain to play at least two holes with each of the eight groups, giving me the opportunity to personally thank each and everyone of you for turning out on my special day.
We had no less than nineteen previous CGC Captains playing on the day which was fantastic and shows the respect amongst our members for the current Club Captain.
The prize giving afterwards gave me the chance to take the mickey out of a few of our members who took the ribbing well.
The days winner was Peter Steward with a very creditable 39 points bearing in mind Peter “blobbed” one of the holes I played with him!
Next up is our away day at Brook- mans Park so I look forward to seeing you there.
