My year as Club Captain is now in full swing and already we are entering its second quarter, time does go fast in this role but I’m really enjoying it.

Firstly a big thank you to all of you who came out and supported Steve as he finished his Captaincy by putting out (eventually) and then having to watch me smash my drive a whopping 101 metres!
By my own high standards of organisation I have got off to a slow start by forgetting the cheese and biscuits for the weekend players twice in the first five weeks but I’m getting into the swing of things now and for the past two weeks there has been a choice of mild or mature cheddar which seems to have gone down well (fussy lot those Sunday boys). Representing Chingford for the first time in the Essex Amateur Championship on 4th & 5th of July he performed outstandingly over 4 rounds finishing just 2 shots off the eventual winner with rounds of 72, 66, 69 & 69 for a -4 total of 276. Continue reading Charlie Durman→
